AGARTALA, April 13 (TIWN): Tripura Skill Development Mission till day has remained unsatisfactory even after 54 crores of sanctioned under skill development. However, apart from Tripura, few others states condition are same, emerging resentment at National Skill Development Corportaion. Admitting that the manufacturing sector is not growing as expected, India's premier skill development platform, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), is focusing more on the services sector -- like tourism, hospitality and healthcare -- to train millions of the country's unemployed youth, its CEO Manish Kumar says. On the other hand, when 7 lakhs of unemployed youths are struggling in job interview lines, multi crores funds are sanctioned from the Centre in the name of skill development. Reportedly, in 2014-15 total 59.40 crores of public money were invested for skill development, but only 556 students were given skill-development certificates without ensuring any job.

In 2015-16 71.44 crores were sanctioned and govt claimed for training 3365 candidates and in 2016-17 out of 35.52 crores public money only 1099 candidates were provided certificates. However, after spending such a hefty amount the unemployment rate has raised more than 7 lahs. Apart from public money similar funds were sanctioned from centre.

But in this empty-industrialization era under CPI-M Govt, question remains, where is skill ? where is employment ? who will utilize the certificates and where is the list of trained candidates?

More 54 crores were sanctioned for this running year, but the 'skill' of the youths yet to give result and the benefit.

In the name of skill development Govt received 54 crores but the unemployed youths number is inreasing day after day.

Apart from that recruitment policy violation is reporting everyday. Among 36 lakhs of its population as per govt record there are  7 lakhs (7,08,941) unemployed youths who have entered names in Employment registers. Apart from that the unofficial unemployed rate is touching almost the population number.

Neither the Govt of Tripura is following any particular guideline to run this skill-development mission. Whereas the Nagaland Govt also adopted guidelines by PMKVY to the trainees to get jobs for themselves or be able to set up some enterprises thereby not only employing themselves but Tripura Govt has set up a separate directorate committee is to  run various programs of skill development in various sectors. Under these sectors, the youth of the state of Tripura will be trained based on skill, capabilities, merit and interests.

In the survey of 2015-16 about unemployment percentage per 1000, Tripura scored 56 %, whereas at Urban area its 67 % and in 55 %, beating Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram. In the name of skill development the Govt has failed to provide jobs across rural and urban bodies.

NSDC  chief also said," To ensure employability of trained men and women, Kumar said in a wide-ranging interview that it was also laying stress on quality training of youth as the feedback received last year was that "the quality was a little low".
But Tripura's skill development qualify has been remained very low till day, raising questions about the proper utilization of the Central funds under Mission Chief S K Panda.
