AGARTALA, April 12 (TIWN): Seeing the situation was turning further complex and the hunger strike heading towards critical consequences as after continuous hunger strike led by Tripura unemployed youths, Tripura Govt has not fulfilled their demands of publishing a fresh advertisement under Agriculture Dept, which was directed by the High Court to publish with modifications, Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy met the youths and told them to withdraw their strike.

This is the Day-5, when the helpless hunger strikers are lying on road infront of North Gate and hndreds of VIP cars are passing via that road but nobody cares about their condition, it was Governor who look at them with mercy and advised them in their support. A 3 member team had met the Governor named Prabir Dutta, Utpalendu Debnath,  Rumpi Debbarma.

However, the strike is withdrawn but the youths are going to file case in High Court against the state govt.

Talking with an Engineer studied and staying outside the state presently, the person told TIWN as a part of her experience of Hunger strike, "We also did Hunger Strike in student life at our College in West Bengal. Many people make fun that hunger striker eat in full stomach, but that's not true. Yes, if student eat in hunger strike it's like medicine and just for surviving and sometimes they are pushed with saline, but it's much insulting to continue hunger strike. It gives a feeling that nobody cares about them and they are so avoided, neglected by the society. Same I found in those youths eyes and surprised to know that they are continuing for 5 days and no action has been taken to fulfill their demands.  You can imagine, in which condition a person can go for hunger strike. Govt must take hunger strikers' pains seriously".

When the whole state is celebrating New Year Festive season, the Agriculture  Dept's passed out students were lying on Agartala road amidst 35 degree Celsius, citing example of 'Golden Era', where people punish like that if they protest.

Thanks goes to the Governor for his action with humanity.
