Women PS to be opened at Belonia : Crime | BELONIA, March 5 (TIWN): At a time when the state Tripura is combating hard enough to restrict crimes against women, the state govt. on its ambitious plan decided to increase the number of women police personnel to one-third of its total strength in the next couple of years. The number of all-women police stations on the other hand is being increased from the existing four to nine soon. As part of it another women police station to opened shortly at Belonia under South Tripura. "Currently, 13 percent of the total police constables and ten percent of the total police force are women. CBI raids Rose Valley Tripura Head offic | AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): Around 8 Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials raided the head office of chit Fund Company Rose Valley at around 7:30 am, here today. No company official was present when the CBI team reached the office. Meanwhile, two agents of Rose Valley namely Narayan Debnath resident of Dhaleshwar and Santosh Kumar Bhowmik resident of Champaknagar were picked by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials for interrogation. During the raid, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials seized several documents including received vouchers from the house of Narayan Debnath. When the raids began, hundreds of agents gathered at the main office of Rose Valley here and surrounded the office fearing loss of business. A huge contingent of security forces have been deployed in the capital city to prevent any untoward incident following the arrest of Rose Valley agents and sealing of its offices here. It is to be mentioned here that earlier, two persons Rose Valley Director Ashok Saha and Branch Manager Anupam Bhattacharjee were also arrested for collecting money without any valid permission from RBI or SEBI.Rose Valley has been biggest chit fund operator in Tripura and has presence even in remote tribal areas. Air ticket black-marketing: CID prepares | AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): Crime Investigation Department (CID) almost completed the investigation in air ticket black-marketing, which caused severe problems to the passengers during the month of December, last year in Tripura. The final report on air ticket black-marketing is likely to be submitted before the court by CID soon, said an official source of CID here today.Based on the published news on the issue, the a team of CID started investigation into air ticket black-marketing from December 12, last after lodging an FIR at West Agartala Police Station under section 157 of IPC, the source added.“The investigation team has conducted raids at 15 air travel agencies in capital city- Agartala during the air ticket crisis period and collected necessary documents including some printed tickets. 14th Finance Commission allocated a budg | AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): Manik Sarkar led Tripura Govt seems hell bent on keeping Govt employees the poorest in country by denying the much needed Central Pay Scale. The 14th Finance Commission has allotted a total budget of 31308.76 crore for Tripura. According to the estimated budget, Tripura will get 644 per 1lakh. However, Finance Minister, Bhanulal Saha told in the budget session that, though the budget seems to be broader in sense, but it creates some effect on the State.Bhanulal Saha on Tuesday presented the budget of the 14th Finance Commission allocations. While delivering the speech, Minister told that according to the budget, for the salaries of the Central Govt employees , there is a need of 1800 crore rupees. Other than that for other purposes, additional amount of 2500 crore will be needed. Minister also clarified that it is not possible to grant central pay scale to the employees.
