77024 metric ton of rubber produced in T | AGARTALA,March 8 (TIWN): 1216 crore rupees was been earned from the production cost of rubber in the year 2012-13 and 2013-2014. Whereas a total of 77024 metric ton of rubber was produced in the following mentioned years. It is to be mentioned here that Tripura ranks as second largest producer of rubber. Natural rubber prices ruling high, farmers are showing increasing interest to bring more area under plantation. Tripura will face stiff competition in retaining second largest natural rubber producing State tag if the production is not enhanced in the years to come; Tripura will face tough challenge as many States have started showing interest in rubber plantation after suffering losses in the past. CJ also expressed disappointment over the issue of the existence of extra constitutional bodies who force the people to settle matters outside the court. Export-Import Ratio of Tripura-Banglades | AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN): The export-import ratio of Tripura and Bangladesh faces a lot of in incompatibilities in the recent few years. From the recent data, it is showed that while from Bangladesh the total amount of export lingers in nearly 300 crore rupees, the export from Tripura leads to hardly in lakhs. In the year 2011-12, the total import business amounts to Rs 329 crore rupees, in the year 2012-2013- it has increased upto Rs 342 crore 66 lakhs rupees, though in the year 2014-15, due to political disturbances in Bangladesh, this number is reduced a few. While comparing to the import amount, in 2012-13, it was export of only Rs 1 crore 40 lakhs and in the year 2013-14, it was 40 lakhs. The same amount prevails in the current year also. Sources in the Agartala Export-Import Association said that border trade with Bangladesh along erstwhile Akhaura check-post had severely hit since the devolution of the Indian rupee vs. Dollar price. 10, 000 MT rice to arrive in Tripura by | AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN): The consignment of 10, 000 metric tonnes of rice from Kakinda of Andhra Pradesh to arrive here in Tripura by the middle of this month through Ashuganj port in Bangladesh, said Food and Civil Supplies Minister Bhanulal Saha. It is mentionable here that during the year 2014, the first consignment of 10,000 metric tonnes of rice from Kakinada of Andhra Pradesh reached Akhaura International Check Post here through Ashuganj port in Bangladesh.Talking to the reporters here at the civil secretariat recently Food and Civil Supplies Minister Bhanulal Saha said that another 10, 000 MT of rice to arrive here in the state by the middle of the March, 2015. However, Saha further added that at present the existing consignment of rice here in the state can meet the demands for more 87 days. A source in the Transport department said that authorities from Bangladesh have informed that it would take a minimum of 48 hours to start unloading of rice trucks at the Akhaura ICP in Tripura.The average monthly requirement of food grains in the State is reported to be 30,000 MT now. CBI operation at Agartala Rose valley of | AGARTALA, March 5 (TIWN): At a time when the Tripura assembly session recently witnessed unprecedented bedlam as the opposition Congress created a ruckus demanding that the government promise security for the money deposited by the people in chit fund companies, the Special CBI teams on Wednesday raided seven Tripura offices of Kolkata-based Rose Valley Group, a chit fund company, and seized many official documents. CBI is apprehending that Rose Valley scam may turn out to be a bigger scandal than Saradha. Besides, the Rose valley Chief Goutam Kundu reportedly all set to reveal the main backers from Tripura CPI(M) and other political parties towards the flourishing business of the Rose valley here in state. It is to be mentioned here that the CBI during their raid has taken the name of a section of CPI (M) leaders and MLAs. CBI raid on Rose Valley: Chief Minister | AGARTALA, March 5 (TIWN): Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Ramendra Chandra Debnath and Chief Minister Manik Sarkar remained mum over the issue of CBI raid in the Rose Valley Office on wednesday. Though there is a rumour that Speaker is being given notice by CBI to interrogate on the matter of Rose valley. But when the Speaker was asked about this issue, Mr. Debnath simply maintained silence over the issue. Speaker told that there no hard and fast rule to inform the Speaker about this. Only at the time of arrest or bailed out intimation letter should be given to Speaker. While, in the Assembly, when Opposition MLA Gopal Roy wanted to know from Chief Minister about the recent investigation , Manik Sarkar simply avoided this by saying that no such information were provided to him. Meanwhile, two officials of Rose Valley namely Narayan Debnath resident of Dhaleshwar and Santosh Kumar Bhowmik resident of Champaknagar were picked by the CBI for interrogation. According to official figures, the Rose Valley had collected Rs 196 crore during the past three years from Tripura, out of which an amount of Rs 86 crore has been returned on maturity.
