State celebrates Mahashasti : 2335 Puja | AGARTALA, September 30 (TIWN): The biggest festival of Durga Puja started across Tripura with religious pomp and gaiety. Thousands of devotees throng in front of all major puja pandals from the day of Sashti. However people already started thronging in to the Puja Pandals on Panchami night. On Mahashasti, the face of the Goddess is unveiled on Mahasasthi. With the unveiling of the idol, starts "Kalparambho", where the main ritual is "Bodhon" It is followed by "Amontron" and "Adhibas" sanctifying the place where Durga and her four children-Lakshmi, Ganesha, Saraswati and Kartik will reside for the next four days in the puja pandal. On the other hand, this year Durga Puja will be celebrated at 2335 places in Tripura including 1023 pujas in urban and 1312 pujas in rural areas. In the city near more than five hundred puja pandals had been decorated.
