MGNREGA Scam over Rs 17 crore : BDO lod | AGARTALA,September 20 (TIWN): After tremendous pressure from all corners and widespread media publication on the Rs 17 crore MGNREGA scam, BDO Bishalgarh RD Block Subrata Das lodged FIR against the then BDO of the block Bimal Chakraborty in Bishalgarh Police station . Police registered a case in this issue (Case no-135/14) under section 409 of IPC. BDO Subrata Das also lodged complaints against four IOs in this case. It is to be mentioned here that in the special Internal Audit Report of MGNREGA for the FY 2012-13 and FY 2013-14, massive misappropriation of more than Rs 17 crore was found. The special Internal Audit wad audited during 05/05/2014 to 30/06/2014. Moreover, among the various cheques produced in Tripura State Cooperative Bank, Agartala Branch by Arnab forging signatures of higher officials , only the signatures of D K Debbarma were suspected to be original.
