Power generation in OTPC starts after 12 | PALATANA, UDAIPUR, September 2 (TIWN): After almost 12 days power generation from OTPC's 726.6MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine(CCGT) Thermal Power Plant began as the BHEL engineers succeeded in synchronization. According to an OTPC official at around 9pm on Monday night, Gas Turbine was synchronized. At 10.15pm on Monday production was 2MW. However, it will increase as time progresses. Replying to a question moved from the opposition benches in the ongoing monsoon session of Tripura state legislative assembly, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that the flight operators were bound to deploy at least 10 percent of their entire fleet in the NE region as per policy laid down by the Government of India.“They are not doing us any favour by giving their carriers for use by customers of the region. Very low human rights violation in state | AGARTALA, September 1 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar today said that the state government didn’t have any plans of constituting a separate state human rights commission for Tripura. Lack of fund mars Tripura's rights panel | AGARTALA, Sep 1 (TIWN / IANS) The Left Front government in Tripura, despite its will, was not able to form human rights commission due to lack of fund and non-availability of a suitable judge, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said here Monday. "The Tripura government has no required funds to constitute a full-fledged state human rights commission," Sarkar said in the state assembly."According to the act, the state human rights commission has to be headed by a retired chief justice of a high court or an ex-judge of the Supreme Court," said Sarkar, who also holds the home portfolio. OTPC power generation cancelled for Sund | PALATANA, UDAIPUR, September 1 (TIWN): Due to some minor problems in software upgradation of the Gas Turbine the scheduled power generation from the Unit-I of OTPCs 726.6MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine(CCGT) Thermal Plan at in Palatana has been cancelled for another 24 hours, authenticated by a top level OTPC engineer on Sunday night . The engineer said that earlier it was scheduled that power generation will begin from Palatana from Sunday night with the USA based General Electric experts handing over the unit to BHEL.
