AGARTALA, September 30 (TIWN): Taking action against illegal use of domestic LPG cylinders in commercial activities, Sub Divisional Magistrate (Sadar) Manik Lal Das seized 20 LPG cylinders from a House at Pratapgarh here this afternoon. Das said that these cylinders were being used by catering agency.

Acting on a tip-off, the team raided the house of Tapan Kar rerident Pratapgarh under East Agartala Police Station. Ehen the team reached the house, 12 domestic gas cylinders and 8 commercial gas cylinders were found which was illegally used”, the SDM added. The search operation was a part of a special drive by the administration to check the use of domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purpose.

The accused managed to flew from the spot, an FIR has been filed into East Agartala Police Station. Further action will be initiated against the house owner and a hunt is on to nab the accused person, he added. Das maintained that such raids will be conducted at regular intervals and no black marketers will be spared. He appealed all owners of hotels, restaurants to avail commercial LPG cylinders for commercial activities.
