Massive fire gusts Kailashahar market : | AGARTALA / KAILASHAHAR, March 17 (TIWN): A short circuit has burnt atleast 12 big shops at Kailashahar Central Road, causing more than 50 lakhs of losses to the businessmen there. The incident occurred in the afternoon when in a studio shop named 'Alo-Chaya' due to short circuit suddenly fire sparked out and at a glance it started to burn the whole bazaar. However, immediately 2 fire brigade cars, with huge number of fire force rushed to the spot. From Kailashahar 2 fire vehicles and from Kadamtala 2 vehicles battled to control the fire till evening hours, but already it burnt 12 big shops, causing losses to other shops. The local people also helped the firemen to control the damage. Among those damaged shops studio, pharmacies, mobile shops, bike showrooms were damaged fully along with other small shops / hawkers there. Calcutta HC orders CBI probe into Narada | AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): It will be hardly manageable for SIT to continue its slow investigation against Chit Fund cases pending in Tripura High Court, as already due to slow investigation by West Bengal Police, Calcutta HC has ordered CBI inquiry against Narada chit fund case. In 2015, being disappointed with Tripura police's slow investigation, High Court the then Chief Justice removed Tripura Police from Chit Fund investigation, and ordered to form Special Investigation Team or SIT to inquiry against the cases. But already a year has been passed, SIT could place only 17 chargesheets out of 78 chit fund cases, where Rose Valley's name was fully 'ignored'. In this regard Congress opposition MLA Ratan Lal Nath told TIWN, "If State Govt doesn't want it's not possible for CBI to come in Tripura, but if HC orders for CBI direct investigation, following bundles of dates of delayed hearings with SIT's continuous failure to submit charge-sheets, then CBI will take charge of the cases". | 17-Mar-2017 |

24 yrs of CPI-M regime : NE state Tripur | AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): The Northeast State Tripura's 23 subdivisons had been divided for faster growth and development, but with a surprise it has revealed that 5 of its subdivisions yet to have any small industry sector. The Industry Dept was chaired by earlier Jiten Chowdhury (Presently MP) and now Minister Tapan Chakraborty. But till day apart from few chit fund groups named industries that ruined that state, not a single industry could grow either its Jute Mill or Bamboo industries. Reportedly, Santir Bazar, Korbook, Panisagar, Kanchanpur, Gandacharra subdivisions have not a single industry. Other subdivions condition is not at all satisfactory as Khowai has 1 small industry, Sabroom-1, Longtarai Valley-2, Amarpur-1, Jampui-1, Jirania-8, Mohonpur-9, Bishalgarh-12, Sonamura-10, Teliamura-7, Belonia-6, Kumarghat-7, Kamalpur-7, Ambassa-7. However, Wheras at Agartala it's claimed for 195 small industries and Udaipur-1 small industries but the Govt data is heavily suspicious as Tripura's small industries data are maximum alleged just for namesake. CBI’s Chit-fund investigations ai | AGARTALA / KOLKATA, March 16 (TIWN): CBI’s over-activism continue in Bengal as two top executives of a West Bengal-based group of companies have been arrested in connection with ongoing investigation into a chit fund case, a CBI official said on Wednesday. "On the basis of a case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation, the then Chief Managing Director Basudeb Bagchi and Managing Director Avik Bagchi of Prayag group of companies have been arrested for illegally collecting Rs 2,862 crores money from investors by fraudulently promising very high returns," a CBI spokesperson said. TMC raised important question that, after the two contradictory type of CBI actions were witnessed against Chit Fund scams at West Bengal and Tripura. Cabinet approves two pc additional DA fo | NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): Manik Sarkar’s CPI-M Govt continue to deprive the State Govt employees in implementing central pay scales whereas Central Govt employees are blessed with regular DA increments by Centre. The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved an additional two per cent Dearness Allowance for central government employees with effect from January 1. The decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "The Cabinet has approved release of additional DA instalment to central government employees and Dearness Relief to pensioners with effect from January 1. It has increased by two per cent over the existing rate of basic pay/pension to compensate for price rise," an official release said. Even after High court orders to clear 31% DA to the state government employees in 2016, Tripura government deprived its employees by giving only mere 4% DA. Tripura Minister’s security guard | AGARTALA, March 15 (TIWN): Industry Minister Tapan Chakraborty’s security guard Badal Sur(40) allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday at Minister’s official quarter by shooting himself from service gun. Immediately, his body was sent to GB hospital but he was already dead. However, no suicide note yet has been recovered from there. FIR has been lodged in West PS, for proper investigation of the case and presently his body has been sent for post mortem. Sources said that due to some family issues, Badal Sur committed suicide.
