AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): It will be hardly manageable for SIT to continue its slow investigation against Chit Fund cases pending in Tripura High Court, as already due to slow investigation by West Bengal Police, Calcutta HC has ordered CBI inquiry against Narada chit fund case. In 2015, being disappointed with Tripura police's slow investigation, High Court the then Chief Justice removed Tripura Police from Chit Fund investigation, and ordered to form Special Investigation Team or SIT to inquiry against the cases. But already a year has been passed, SIT could place only 17 chargesheets out of 78 chit fund cases, where Rose Valley's name was fully 'ignored'. In this regard Congress opposition MLA Ratan Lal Nath told TIWN, "If State Govt doesn't want it's not possible for CBI to come in Tripura, but if HC orders for CBI direct investigation, following bundles of dates of delayed hearings with SIT's continuous failure to submit charge-sheets, then CBI will take charge of the cases".

Chances of CBI investigation directly in Tripura Rose Valley is much possible, as it's HC that since 2013 was set up in Tripura has been giving shocks of hearings against Tripura Govt's nepotism.   Moreover, the Calcutta High Court on Friday ordered the CBI to conduct a preliminary probe into the Narada sting.

The sting is allegely in operation in which the prominent leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress were purportedly seen taking wads of currency notes, which has triggered much tension among the Rose Valley frauds are in bail in Tripura. Reportedly, a Division Bench of acting Chief Justice Nishita Mhatre and Justice T. Chakraborty asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to complete its preliminary inquiry in 72 hours.

The court also asked the CBI to lodge a FIR in the case if it felt it was necessary. The bench told the CBI to take possession within 24 hours of all devices now in the possession of the court which were used in the sting operation. The court gave the order after hearing three Public Interest Litigations seeking an independent probe into the controversy that came to light in March 2016.

The web portal Narada News had then uploaded a series of video footage purportedly showing a number of high-profile Trinamool leaders, including former and present ministers, MPs and MLAs receiving money in exchange for doling out favours to a fictitious company.

As per the data total 78 cases were filed regarding chit fund groups, whereas only 18 chargesheets were submitted by SIT and rest 65 were said as under investigation. But what surprises is that out of 62 chit fund groups only 17 companies offices were seized including Rose Valley, which was seized recently. Apart from that the govt said presently investigation is going on and nothing can be said about selling the properties and returning depositors money.

The way the Tripura  govt avoided CBI inquiry by sending wrong data to CBI, in the same manner SIT also allegedly assisting Rose Valley to stay far from investigation.

Rose Valley is 10 times bigger scam then other scams held in Tripura. But allegedly Tripura Govt sent a wrong data on Rose Valley with a very minimum amount of Rs. 10,000/- and Rs. 5,4000/- on the peak time which led the case to delay

But the oppositions claimed that from the beginning CPI-M has taken plan-wise steps so that Rose Valley never comes under any CBI. In 2013 with an aim to cancel CBI inquiry against Rose Valley the cases were sent with a very minimum account, so that no CBI inquiry could occur in coming future.

Even at High Court also whereas other chit fund companies names were pushed to the Justice’s benches but the SIT missed Rose Valley’s name, even after so much of protests.

Rose Valley and other chit fund cases in Tripura are investigated under SIT  I/C- K.V. Srijesh.
