AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): West Bengal Chief Minister and her Govt are now in Tripura CPI-M Govt's path of challenging High Court's order. It has been informed that on challenging Calcutta HC's order for CBI inquiry against Narada scam, WB Govt will appeal in SC to put stay order on HC's decision.
Division Bench of acting Chief Justice Nishita Mhatre and Justice T. Chakraborty asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to complete its preliminary inquiry in 72 hours.
But, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday described the Calcutta High Court order for a CBI probe into the Narada sting operation as "unfortunate" and said her government and the Trinamool Congress will move the Supreme Court against the verdict.
But how far Didi will be able to save her party face, it's to be seen. SC may put stay order but what matters is about the final order.
The court also asked the CBI to lodge a FIR in the case if it felt it was necessary. The bench told the CBI to take possession within 24 hours of all devices now in the possession of the court which were used in the sting operation.
Tripura Govt has also same fashion to delay a case as far as possible to appeal in SC. There are 157 cases against Tripura Govt pending at Supreme Court.
As per Govt data, 1678 cases in Tripura High Court and 157 cases at the Supreme Court totaling 1835 cases are pending against the Tripura Govt.
Now it seems, the Bengal Govt is following the same trend but how far these Govts can delay the cases it's to be seen. Now Bengal is waiting for Narada hearing and Tripura is 10,323 teachers' case.
