AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): A 12 hours strike called by ruling CPI-M has paralyzed Sabroom Subdivision at South Tripura following clash among BSF and villagers during smuggling attacking.
CPI-M has called this strike against BSF’s firing at Chitabari Indo-Bangla border.
Tight security has been deployed at South Tripura to prevent any untoward incident.
On Friday, BSF nabbed a huge number of cattle smuggled via Indo-Bangla border at Chitabari, which is popularly known as ‘smuggling-corridor’, but reacting over BSF’s action, the vexed villagers attacked upon BSF with sharp weapon and in self prevention BSF held firing where 3 people died, 2 injured and now many in escape.
The deceased persons are Man Kumar Tripura (30) Par Tripura Tripura (40) Sarala Laxmi Tripura (33).
However reacting over BSF’s action Tripura ruling CPI-M is observing a 12 hrs strike, allegedly, to beg the vote banks there.
