AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): Amidst boosting about raids and trapping of smugglers, the drug smuggling at a rise in Tripura. Kadamtala is allegely acting as the corridor for smuggling either via National Highway or Railway among all the NE states. Reportedly, the drugs supplied via Kadamtala from other Northeast states, are distributing across the state through chain businessmen. Eventhough sometimes criminals engaged in the crime are detecting, but not even 5 % of them traced by police. Via various new new ways the smugglings are going on here, spoiling the generation from the nurturing level. The sellers are small shop-keepers, medicine shops from where school, college students are directly buying these elements. From Dharmanagar train also intoxicated items were found by BSF. On July 7, 2016 1 kilo and 365 gram of Brown Sugar (worth 1.25 crores) was recovered from Silchar-Agartala train at Panisagar by BSF 159thbtln.

Apart from that 400 gram brown sugar was seized from a bus by 159th battalion BSF on Sunday afternoon at Dharmanagar ISBT area. The bus was travelling from Dharmanagar to Agartala. Reportedly, Brown sugar worth Rs. 30 lakhs was being shipped into the Capital City Agartala.

Inside rice sacks, potato sacks these items are remained hidden. But surprising matter is that the place where such incidents are happening atKadamtala are very close to the Kadamtala Police Station, but police have failed to stop such kinds of illegal business till day. Instead of decreasing the smuggling rackets are at a rise.

Inside other food items via kadamtala Outpost way lakhs of illegal items are entering in state, but the smugglers are left with ease-business.  But till day Kadamtala Police has not detected any such kinds of activities, whereas BSF and high officials have arrested many culprits, raising questions about the role of Kadamtala Police Force.

Another new business have developed from Assam-Kadamtala as ‘Stone-Stealing’ business. With all such increasing activities the law and order has come in question, which has been identified as one of the chief reasons for undeveloped NE zone.
