AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): State BJP raised question over Govt lawyer's role in High Court. Referring both rape accused Panna Ahmed and Parimal Saha murder cases, BJP leader cum HC lawyer Kalyani Roy on Thursday raised question that why Tripura Govt lawyer Abhijit Ghosh is supporting the accused o get bail in HC.

In both the cases, Lower court had jailed the accused. But again the accused appealed in High Court, but surprisingly Govt Lawyer was taking the accused sides, said Roy.

After 33 years of wait, Former Congress MLA Parimal Saha's family had received the justice at last as Court convicted 8 people ending the case. Additional district and session court in 2016 announced twelve people as guilty into the murder case and 5 acquitted among the entire 17 accused of the case.

However this case was brought under special focus after the High court ordered the additional district and session court to wrap up the Parimal Saha murder case hearing along with judgement by April 30, 2016.

However, challenging the verdict of Tripura lower court the family members of Parimal Saha appealed in High Court. On Govt side and on behalf of Parimal Saha, advocate Abhijit Ghosh is conducting the criminal case. But opposition Congress has raised question over the role of Abhijit Ghosh and asked to replace him new a new lawyer.

As Parimal Saha was a Congress MLA, thus CPI-M's Govt's role was suspicious from the beginning. Just due to HC's pressure the lower court in 2016 had convicted Parmal Saha murderers.

This issue had created unrest in the Assembly also, but on behalf of Govt no clear reply about lawyer Abhijit Ghosh's replacement was given supporting Congress MLA Ratan Lal Nath. Later lawyer Ghosh had resigned. But BJP raised question why Ghosh was acting supporting the convicted persons?

Rape accused Panna Ahmed, TCS officer was given bail after 3 months of his jail. Then challenging the lower court’s decision, the victim party appealed in HC. HC put stay order on the lower court decision. But there also Abhijit Ghosh was acting on behalf of Ahmed, but not the victim.
