BG Conversion: NFR promises to build a | AGARTALA, Oct 30 (TIWN): Seeing the faster progress in the BG conversion work to connect the land locked Tripura with the rail map of the country, the North East Frontier Railway (NFR) plans to run goods train on the newly converted BG rail track up to Agartala December. It is to be mentioned here that BG conversion work from Lumding to Agartala via Karimganj has made a good progress and the BG line from Kumarghat to Agartala has already been completed and eyeing the speedy work progress NFR decided to kick off the goods train service to Agartala by December. However, it is also to be mentioned here that NFR has already decided to build a road over bridge at Teliamura as the people has been demanding for a road over bridge at Teliamura since October 1. Although the BG conversion work is stalled at Teliamura but as the NFR has promised, a road over bridge will be constructed soon to facilitate easy transportation to the people of Teliamura. Keeping in mind the local people’s demand, the NFR has decided to build the bridge at the earliest. Law department takes action against two | AGARTALA, Oct 30 (TIWN): The law department took departmental action against two judicial officers - Prakash Chandra Biswas and Jesthamani Murasingh. A notification was issued in this regard on Thursday. The notification regarding Prakash Chandra Biswas stated that an inquiry proceeding against the delinquent official was started on the basis of two newspaper reports which reported that Prakash chandra Biswas had been caught cheating while appearing in one of the papers of the Ph.D. Course Work Examination held on 19.02.2014. Since the newspaper reports levelled serious allegations against the delinquent official, the delinquent official was placed under suspension and inquiry proceedings was initiated by the High Court of Tripura. And whereas on completion of the inquiry, the inquiry Officer submitted the inquiry report to the High Court of Tripura and in the inquiry Biswas, Distirict Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Gomati Judicial District, Udaipur ( a Grade-II Member of the Tripura Judiciat Service) was found guilty. Deadline for completing the flyover construction work is going on in speedy way. It is to be mentioned here that as Battala has an open space, the construction agency has chosen battala to begin with the cement casting work. A total of 65 pillars will be constructed for the first ever fly over which will connect from Drop gate to fire brigade chowmuhani. Once the cement casting for the first pillar at Battala gets complete the construction work will be expanded towards bordowali. However, as Battala has much bigger and wider space the workers are able to carry out the construction without much hampering to the traffic movement but once the construction is expanded towards Bordowali it might turned up traffic glitch in a day to day life. Talking to TIWN correspondent on Thursday, Dhalai DM said that probabilities for opening the new border haat at Kampalpur are under full swing and the association is waiting for the joint meeting between the authorities of Tripura and Bangladesh. He further said that, the association has already given a proposal for conducting a joint meeting between the authorities of Tripura and Bangladesh for deciding the venue for the haat. Until and unless the meeting is conducted no progress can be made for the 3rd border haat in Tripura, said Dhalai DM. To progress with the border hat work it is quintessential to decide the venue for the haat and it can be derided once the authorities from both the side of Tripura and Bangladesh sits for joint meeting, added Dhalai DM. Santa Saha murder case: The accused to b | AGARTALA, Oct 27 (TIWN): With the end of the jail custody of three accused of Santa Saha murder case, the CID will again produce the accused before the court on October 28.It is to be mentioned here that, the prime accused of the Santa Saha murder case, her own elder son Dipanjoy saha was sent to police remand and the other 3 accused including her younger son and two other Mafia’s were sent to Jail custody by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate.However, in the last hearing the 3 accused except the prime accused Dipanjoy Saha were sent to Jail custody till October 27 and will be again produced before the court on October 28.However, in allegation of the murder of the 50 years old santa saha in her own residence, CID to again produce the accused before the court including elder son Dipanjoy Saha and younger son Bitanjoy Saha and the two alleged mafia’s Ranabir Lodh and Krishna Dey.According to the sources, CID has collected few more evidence related to the murder of Santa Saha. The sources also confirmed that, the accused has taken the help of technology to execute the murder of the Santa Saha as all the details related to the murder was there in the laptop of the elder son Dipanjoy Saha. After Myanmar, new waterways in offing t | AGARTALA, Oct 27 (TIWN/IANS) After Myanmar, India has kicked off the process to open new waterways with Bangladesh, a move that would facilitate the movement of people, goods and machinery between them and hugely help land-locked northeastern India.According to union Minister for DoNER (Development of North Eastern Region) Jitendra Singh, India is prioritising multi-modal connectivity in the northeastern region, including water connectivity, and already 16 waterway projects, mostly involving Bangladesh, have been approved for this region. "To expedite Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Act East Policy, multi-modal connectivity in the northeastern region, mostly involving Bangladesh, has been undertaken on a priority basis to increase bilateral trade and to increase the movement of people," Singh told IANS in an interview. "The shipping ministry, in association with the ministry of external affairs, is looking into this.
