KAMALPUR, Oct 31, (TIWN): The public distribution system has turned into a service of dealers’ here at Kamalpur. Although not all the dealers but many have become so arrogant and unruly that they changed their fair price shops into dens of irregularities. But the sub-divisional food authority remained mere spectator as all the dealers got the stamp of party symbol.

In the state, it has become very common that the fair price dealers would grab some profits by illegal black marketing. Moreover, they happily used to make some sixes and sevens at their weighing systems. Although, the State government demanded to curb all those strictly but in reality the dealers suffered nothing at they came under the party shelter. And using this opportunity, some dealers here started to control their customers at their will. Some fair price shops got opened even at 9 am though their stipulated time got scheduled at 7-30 am. And those dealers found hovering at the SDC(Food)’ office round the clock. People complained against such dealers of Indiranagar pacs of Noagaon, Kalachari Pacs at College Chowmuhani but in vain. Another dealer at remote Jamthum area of Jamthum fair price shop happily sold fair price items illegally at broad day light and the  even after getting several complaints the authority remained fingers’’ crossed. Among total 68 fair price shops almost 27 fair price shops came under the scanner of serious allegations.

But the authority remained reluctant mainly because of their party identity, claims locals.
