Despite of several initiatives taken by the till day the state is dependent over the fish imported from Andhra Pradesh, Bangladesh and Kolkata.

However, where the Ministerial Authority claims tall of making the state fish farmers self sufficient, on the other hand all the small and large market were been marked with the fishes of Andhra Pradesh, Kolkata including Bangladesh. It can be said that the fish markets runs only due to the imported fishes.

When the Bangladesh border remains close, hue and cry can be observed among the fish traders and this situation also leads to price hike in the fish market.

This situation raises question that if the state government has been taking so much effort to make the state fisher man self sufficient than why the market is dependent over the imported fishes.
