Tripura CPI-M’s fear of ADC†| AGARTALA, Oct 7 (TIWN): The demand of separate Twipra (Tripura) state has made ruling party afraid so much so that it has taken a complete u-turn on its demand for direct funding to Tribal District Councils. Revising its stand on the funding of ADC’s the state govt on Tuesday said it want District Council’s to be strengthen through state govt only. The sudden shift of stand of CPI-M led Tripura govt on the issue (funding to ADC’s) has once again unmask the Marxists of its mindset towards the tribal people. The party has understood the possible consequence it will face once the ADC started getting money directly from center. Once center starts transferring its fund to the ADC’s directly the party leaders of TTAADC are bound to maintain its own line rather than present narrow party politics. The Radhacharan brigade which virtually snatched the CEM post from the party leaders few month earlier may be defiant enough to implement its own vendetta. The new line of funding to ADC’s has also some other significance-the erosion in support base in hilly areas due to the emergence of IPFT and BJP has compelled CPI-M leadership to review its position and to attempt to control the damage with the projection of fight of former CM and past party leader Dasarath Deb. Party is observing the birth centenary of Dasarath Deb to redraw the attention of tribal to the CPI-M line. Moreover the direct funding demand is anonymous to the demand of separate state. Once the direct funding has started the demand of Twipra state of IPFT bound to get momentum and bring more and more aborigines in to the fold of IPFT. The CPI-M’s change of its course of position so far as tribal has once again clarified its mindset towards the people belongs to primitive groups. | 06-Oct-2015 |
