Reacting against the incident, JMC member Kamal Deb said, "The incident took place at Salema constituency, Bamunchara. Terminated teacher Subharani Sarkar's husband Pranajit Namasudra was earning his livelihood with this car. The car was kept in their home but the miscreants could not tolerate that also and eventually they set the car on fire. The car was bought after she lost job and somehow managed to buy the car and like cowards they burnt it after throwing petrol on it".
