AGARTALA, June 23 (TIWN): Petrol, Diesel price hikes hit the state along with the whole nation and centering this burning matter, Congress staged a protest at Khowai. The agitation was basically held over continuous increasing prices of petrol, diesel and necessary commodities.

The economic slowdown, the rising unemployment rate and skyrocketing prices of petrol and diesel have become heavy on common men. Not only petrol and diesel prices hiked amid the pandemic situation but price hikes on necessary commodities also rattled common men's lives.

The daily commuters are also facing troubles along with the vehicle drivers due to price hike of petrol. Rising unemployment rate and rising price of necessary commodities hit the state but the State Govt is in slumber, not interested to reduce taxes.  The Khowai Block Congress Committee staged a protest rally over continuous price hike of necessary commodities and fuel in front of the Congress building. The program was initiated by the Khowai Block Congress Committee along with the entire state by maintaining Covid guidelines.
