Annual Budget of Rs 15,246.52 crores tab | AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): Tripura Govt. on Friday tabled a Budget of Rs 15,246.52 crores in the state Assembly for the 2016-17 fiscal at Tripura Assembly.Total receipt of debt is stated to be Rs 1570 crores and the deficit amount was stated to be at Rs188.54 crores. Finance Minister Tapan Chakraborty said that the debt of Rs. 1570 crore would be reportedly covered by reducing non-development expenditures, stepping up resource mobilization to increase the state’s own revenue beside more efficient tax enforcement and effective austerity measures. The budget has also revealed that the Budget for the Fiscal year 2016-16 is hiked by 17.34 percent compare to the previous year. However, the budget of the financial year 2016-17 laid importance to the development of various departments including Health, Education and other. Presenting his state budget in the assembly, the minister said the measures would enlarge the scope of employment-generation in the state. Minister Tapan Chakraborty who has been given the portfolio of Finance Department has this task for the next 5 days and placed the much awaited budget in the Assembly. 2016-17 Tripura Budget session: sudden l | Sensitive Yusuf Commission report , which is scheduled to be tabled on the last day of budget session, suddenly erupted a controversy on Friday at the Assembly after the report was made public in a vernacular daily of the state. During the budget session, Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman raised question about how the report was made public via a vernacular daily. Addressing to the question, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar replied that the matter will be given proper attention, it will be checked whether the report has any authenticity or not. Five special teams to review Bengal's po | KOLKATA / AGARTALA March 18 (TIWN): The Election Commission has decided to depute five special teams to review poll preparedness across 21 districts of West Bengal for the upcoming assembly elections, an official said on Thursday. "Five special teams will undertake comprehensive review of poll preparedness across 21 districts from March 18 to March 22," said additional chief electoral officer Dibyendu Sarkar. "They will make a first hand assessment of the various arrangements made by election machinery for the polls," he said. Sarkar said the teams will submit a detailed report on March 23. Each of the five teams will be led by chief electoral officers of five states - Punjab, Chattisgarh, New Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka - and include four other officials: additional or deputy CEO, one Indian Police Service officer and two poll panel officials. Just before people could recover from the shock of 10,323 teachers terminated jobs, the termination of jobs of 34 Assistant professors under AGMC has triggered resentment among the people. With faults in the recruitment policy of the 34 Assistant professors, appointed in the year 2012 under the notification of Adhoc recruitment from the state government, the Tripura HC on Thursday has terminated the jobs of these 34 Assistant professors appointed in AGMC and hospital since 2012. Justice SC Das on Thursday ordered fresh recruitment in the post as the jobs of the 34 assistant professors were terminated following violations of rules in the recruitments policy and embezzlement in the reservation category into the post.The hearing into the case was completed 15 days back after a writ petition was filed against the recruitment policy by two doctors identified as Asis Debbrma and Monoranjan Debbrma in the year 2012 alleging discrepancy into the recruitment policy of 34 assistant professors appointed in AGMC and hospital. | 17-Mar-2016 |
