Agartala Railway station getting a facel | AGARTALA, March 4 (TIWN): Considering the commencement of the BG passengers railway service from Agartala, the city railway station to be developed as a model station, with all the modern facilities and the renovation work is underway in fullswing. The station would be widened and all platforms would be repaired to avoid any untoward incident during rush hours. Special care would be taken at the exit and entry points to avoid any chaos. Also, special arrangement would be made for hygiene and cleanliness and new foot over bridges are also constructed in the platforms. Officials say the aim of the project is to eliminate the bottlenecks at the entrance and exit gates of the station which result in huge traffic jams. Hundreds of vendors who always tend to encroached upon the area adjacent to the boundary wall of the station will also be asked to leave. All work like shifting of structures and removal of boundary wall would be executed within few days. People from Tripura will enjoy a congestion-free entrance to Agartala railway station in the near future. TBSE+2 examination has begun from Wednesday and the Madhyamik exam beginning from Thursday. However CBSE Exam has already started from Tuesday, i.e. March 1. Due to Govt apathy, alongwith board exams the disturbances are escalating in full wave in Tripura. Reportedly, on Tuesday when a sudden vehicle strike by unruly vehicle drivers had disrupted the traffic movement in 4 districts. Whereas many students had options for school buses, but others faced a lot of problem due to CPI-M motor union strikes. Moreover, due to the strike on Tuesday by CPI-M's motor Union, the school buses also took a long time to ply on the roads. Such conditions not only kill time, but also disturb the students' mind before the examination. During night in various areas, loud music due to functions held by local public, disturbing the students' study. Although instructions are given to turn off the music after 10 pm, but the state Govt. should revise its policy that students prepare themselves for the next day examination not after 10 pm but during the daytime, evening hours. Frequent power cuts is another problem, specially for the students who are living in rural areas. Tripura's educational scenario in doldru | AGARTALA, March 2 (TIWN): Despite tall claims made by the Left Front Government of Tripura pertaining to the educational scenario of the state, the ground reality tells a different tale. The educated youth hates to join teaching service as because eligibility requirements for a teacher’s job is not adhered by the State Government. This has resulted in huge amount of teacher’s crisis. Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) areas are the worst sufferers in this point. Teachers in the state were scared to go to school when the law and order situation was appalling in the remotest corners. The recalcitrant State Government never acted upon it and thus, the situation still remains the same. Meanwhile, huge number of teachers have been superannuated. However, the State Government never contemplated filling up the vacuum created by those superannuated lot. The terms and conditions of teacher’s recruitment have been amended throughout India by mandating appearance for Teacher’s Eligibility Test (TET). As the State Government recruited 10,323 teacher’s without conducting TET, the Tripura High Court declared the appointments null and void. Challenging this verdict, the State Government moved the Supreme Court. The case is still pending before the apex Court. Tripura's first flyover : problem or sol | AGARTALA, March 2 (TIWN):The Battala flyover construction has proved that communication in Tripura has become very perilous in a population of more than 5 lakhs. There are 23 sub-divisions in Tripura. Out of it, 10 sub-divisions are located South of River Haora. Geographically, South Tripura is comparatively located on the plains, while North Tripura is located on the hills. And thus, the former is more populated than the latter. The 10 sub-divisions of South Tripura leans on Battala’s Haora Bridge. Haora Bridge is a victim to traffic jams throughout the entire year. The state’s first flyover is undergoing construction from Agartala Police headquarters to Fire Brigade Chowmuhani. Another wing of the flyover would be supplemented from Battala to Paradise Chowmuhani. The total cost of this project is Rs. 2,25,000,00,00. The length of the flyover is 2.260 M.The State Government has taken no step to keep up the free alternate connectivity between Agartala and South Tripura.The distance between Paradise Chowmuhani and River Haora is only half a kilometre. Labour Union calls for massive strike at | AGARTALA, March 1 (TIWN): Raising voice against the alleged harassment of the Tripura Police and Traffic Authority, labour union and the owners of the public vehicles has staged sudden strike on Tuesday in all across the State. Talking to TIWN correspondent on Tuesday, Police sources mentioned that the sudden strike has been mainly called by the labour union and the owners of the public vehicles protesting against the random traffic and police check over the vehicles. Besides, the sources mentioned that the strike is mainly at the Gomati District. Stressing over the issues, it has been mentioned that the members of the labour union and the vehicle owners has encircled the SP office at Gomati District. On the other hand, allegation has been raised that the protester are also demanding for the transfer of the SP and the traffic police. Speaking about the details, sources further mentioned that the vehicle owners claimed that the random check over the vehicles disrupts the vehicles movements and leads to delay in the journey.Besides, the protester also claimed that every time the official deployed on the roads for checking charge huge fine which cause the vehicle owners huge loss.“Every time they charges fine and it cost us huge amount. Besides, the officials also seize the driving licence in order to cancel it. All these issues creates huge problem for usâ€, claimed a protester.Due the random check on the road creates problem for us. Besides, due to all these it gets impossible for us to reach on time.
