AGARTALA, March 18 (TIWN): From common men to employees appointed under Tripura government, everyone's eyes will be stick for the next five days on the crucial Tripura budget to be tabled by the Minister Tapan Chakraborty as the department of Finance is reallocated to present Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty as Finance Minister Bahnu Lal saha is undergoing treatment in AIIMS, due to cancer. Minister Tapan Chakraborty who has been given the portfolio of Finance Department has this task for the next 5 days to place the much awaited budget in the Assembly.Counting hours left for the Budget Session of Tripura Assembly to begin. Reportedly, the budget session is going to begin from Friday. It is to be mentioned here that he five-day long budget session is expected to continue till next month.

According to report, on the first day of the budget session the budget for the financial year 2016-2017 will be placed. Few bills including one for raising salary and allowances payable to members of the state Legislative Assembly are likely to be placed in the current session, a highly placed source in the department of Parliamentary Affairs said earlier.

The five days’ assembly session would conclude with appropriation of bills and resolutions.

It may be noted here that Finance Minister Bhanu Lal Saha is ailing and is now in Delhi for medical tests before undergoing surgery at the AIIMS.

The Cabinet approved proposals for filling up altogether 386 posts in some departments, including Industries and Commerce.

While 106 Gr-A and Gr-C posts have been created for upcoming Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) at Bishramganj, Teliamura, Kamalpur and Longthorai Valley, 143 posts have been created for the existing ITIs. If faculty members are appointed, four ITIs would start functioning from the next academic session.

With the beginning of the budget session, the time for the Yusuf Commission report to get public is also heading near.

It is to be mentioned   here that ahead of the budget session of the Tripura assembly, the state government has announced an additional five percent dearness allowance (DA) for its 209,000 employees and pension holders.
Claiming state government’s financial crunch, it has released additional five percent of DA for the employees and pensioners.

To provide the DA, the additional annual spending from the government exchequer would be Rs.162.5 crore.
Govt employees and pensioners had long been demanding from the state government that their DA be equal to that of central government employees.
With this new instalment with effect from January, the DA of state government employees and pensioners rose to 79 percent, while central government employees are getting the dearness allowance at 119 percent.
