CPI-M’s massive protest in Agarta | AGARTALA, Aug 9 (TIWN): CPI-M’s massive protest programme today was organized under the CITU, Gana Mukti Parishad (GMP) and other unions but the protest was boxed by huge numbers of police deployed by the Biplab Deb Govt. CPI-M was in silent protest with banners, following social-distancing but huge police were sent to stop the protest. The CPI-M raised slogan, “Bharat Bachao, Manush Bacho, Desh Bachao, Corporate Hataao, Modi Hataao, BJP Hataaoâ€. All the agitators were detained by police later. Addressing media, Gana Mukti Parishad (GMP) President Jitendra Choudhury said, “Today, the whole country is undergoing severe crisis. The Govt led lockdown was unprepared. Amid COVID-19 Crisis, AMC Bulldozed hous | AGARTALA, Aug 9 (TIWN): City development, although a luxury for the rich, but almost nightmare for the poor and once again it has been proven in Agartala city when people were seen crying by seeing their houses are being broken with monstrous like bulldozers. In such an incident, houses were bulldozed in Agartala City in the name of City development planning but the affected persons were seen crying before media, although they have been assured verbally about new land allocation, but so far no land has been allocated in reality. These bulldozing drives started from a long time in the city as the Govt is now proceeding with a Smart City mission. Earlier, houses, shops on Govt lands were bulldozed, many tea stalls, vendors lost their carts which were allegedly took off by AMC in the dark hours of very early mornings.
