AGARTALA, Aug 8 (TIWN): Tripura Congress senior leader Gopal Roy on Saturday has alleged that there are acute crisis of Oxygen for the patients in ICU, COVID-Centre in GB hospital due to technical problems. He said, in the month of February this issue was raised before the concerned authority but the problem remained unsolved. He has demanded from State Govt that it must announce how many medical staffs of the state have been infected in COVID-19. Addressing media, Gopal Roy said, “Over 6000 people are infected, recovered around 4000 but the cases are surging day by day. COVID-Center’s main hospital is at GB hospital but it is not also properly managed. In ICU and Ventilations, they are not having sufficient oxygen”.

“There was technical fault, pipeline was leaked but it is not fixed yet. People would be dying without oxygen. High Court must interfere”, said Roy.

Gopal Roy said, “Till now in India over 3000 Doctors have been infected and around 200 died as per news report. Tripura Govt till now has not announced anything regarding how many medical staffs are infected. There should be a clear picture about that. Moreover, instead of being thankful, it is noticed that how our Doctors have been attacked amid the pandemic. Recently, a Doctor was suspended and after protests, suspension was withdrawn. Govt must announce how many Doctors have been infected”.

Roy further raised question, why Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb who is in quarantine now, did not handover the dept before going for quarantine ?
