AGARTALA, Aug 6 (TIWN): COVID-Crisis period is going on but there is no betterment of the common men’s lives specially in the working class. Neither the mainstream media has space for the starving sections of people, nor the Govt agrees about existence of “Starvation” in the state. Daily workers in Tripura left in miserable condition as due to lockdown, workless situations have gripped the state. The workers, who came to Battala zone in Agartala, which has been their regular base for work from decades, alleged that everyday, they are coming but returning without getting a work as due to lockdown. Nobody is giving them work or in other words, demands of workers have drastically downed due to the Lockdown situation.

Talking a labourer, who came from Bishalgrah, said, “We are unable to feed our family with 2 times meals. Few leaders come and ask, whether we are getting any work from Govt or whether we are getting any help, but truly speaking except rice, nothing are given in the ration shops. Is only rice enough for survival ?”

“Our children need support for studies. What to do, nothing is clear. If Govt had helped us with financial support or alteast it had helped us to get works, it could be better for us”, another worker said.
