Profit down hits sellers in Laxmi Puja m | AGARTALA, Oct 12 (TIWN): Market survey shows a sharp fall of profits this year in the Laxmi puja market here in Agartala. At the same time price hikes have hit the fruit markets, whereas in crackers and idol markets amid losses maintained same price tags like the last year. TIWN has surveyed two markets in last two days in Agartala : 1) Battala and 2) Gol Bazar markets but so far no profit trend was reported till 2 PM. Few sellers however said the business is average which may get a better shape in the evening. Talking to a cracker-seller he directly accused the economic fall which have hit common men hard and idol sellers also alleged the same. Even consumers accepted that the price remained same for them, but the sellers are at loss due to lack of demands. An idol seller said, demand of big-idols have sharply decreased in compare to the last year.The rates of the fruits were reported from Gol Bazar : Mangoes are sold at Rs. 300, Sweet lemons are at 100 for piece, Orange : 100 at 4 piece, Apple Rs. 80 kilo, Pomegranate Rs 200 kilo. Indeed all fruits are selling at skyrocketing prices ahead of Laxmi puja. Laxmi puja to be held on October 13. Congress organized massive protest again | AGARTALA, Oct 11 (TIWN): Tripura Congress launched a massive protest against increasing load-shedding problems in the state along with recently hiked 7.5% tariffs on the Electricity. A big rally kicked off from the State Congress Headquarter in Agartala Post Office Chowmuhani, marched towards the TSECL office for placing a deputation to the CMD of TSECL. Addressing media ahead of the rally, Congress leader Gopal Roy said, “As you know Tripura for a long period of time is being suffered due to heavy load-shedding problems. When load-shedding problems are hitting the state on that time, this anti-people Govt has come up with a new shock for the consumers by increasing the tariffs of electricity. As a result the electricity bill to be doubled. We condemn the decision of the Government. CMIE Report figures out India's Urban un | AGARTALA, Oct 10 (TIWN): According to CMIE report published for the September month, 2019 India’s urban area’s unemployment rate is 9.9% whereas rural unemployment rate is 6.7%. Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) has revealed its monthly data for Indian unemployment rate for September-2019, listing Tripura at the top position in unemployment rate with 31.2%.
