AGARTALA, Oct 11 (TIWN): Till now, four accused persons have been identified in attacking case of “News Today” channel’s Editor Sourajit Pal.

A source has informed, the four accused persons are : 1) Banti, 2) Papan Das, 3) Sourav Majumder (Baban), 4) Bappa Nandi.

It was on October 9 night at the capital  city Agartala after the end of  an auspicious festival at the Dasami Ghat when a news Editor was attempted to be murdered by mafias, whereas so far no arrest was held.

A mafia group led by one Bappa Nandi with his goons attacked in the house of Sourajit Pal, owner of “News Today”, alleged the injured Editor who was shifted to ILS from IGM hospital on Thursday.

What shocking about the report is the whole incident happened in the presence of Sahadeb Bhowmick, OC, Battala PS.

News Today team stated that the miscreants attacked Sourajit Pal by a knife and snatched his gold chain, with some cash by heading a revolver on his chest.

After the incident, some local people have rescued him in a serious position and admitted him in IGM Hospital. And on 10th October, they have transferred him in ILS Hospital for better treatment.

State media persons demanded immediate arrests of the culprits at the earliest.
