Statewide jerking roadways hit passengers, no maintenance  for long, big-big holes on Highways

AGARTALA, Oct 12 (TIWN): Across state Tripura, massive jerking roadways are turning lives miserable as unmaintained roads left in deplorable shapes.

From normal routes to national highways all are in same situation, erupting mass resentments, affecting vehicles longevities.

On October 8, local people of Manughat, Longtarai Valley came in massive protest demanding immediate maintenance of the national highway. They blocked the National Highway demanding recovery of the roads. Big holes have turned the vehicle movements risky over there.

Kamalpur to Khowai roadways pathetic conditions were alleged by netizens which come under Minister NC Debbarma and Mebar Jamatia's areas. 

But while imposing cess on fuel, Govt assured to utilize the revenue for road-repairing but so far cess and Value Added Tax (VAT) imposition could not help out the PWD in road maintenance added daily pathos of common men on broken roads throughout the state. Right now the VAT charges imposed on petrol and diesel are 23% and 15.5% accordingly, but while first ever increasing the taxes on the fuel, Law Minister Ratanlal Nath on July 26, 2018 assured that the earned revenue from extra taxes to be used for road-maintenance.
