Price hikes going faster : Petrol Price | AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN): Petrol (Gasoline) price in Agartala today increased at Rs. 73.35 and Diesel price is Rs. 68.54 Per Litre as. Compared to Yesterday Petrol price changed by Rs. 2.44 paise and diesel Rs. 2.39 litre. The hike was measured after Union Budget was announced on July 5 declaring special additional excise duty (SAED) as well as Road and Infrastructure Cess by Rs 1 per litre each on automobile fuels. However, when prices of commodities are going higher, there is no increase much in the income of the people in states like Tripura. On the other side, Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) has announced to increase power charge soon alleging that in last 4 years power charges were not increased which has been troubling the department with massive debts.The decision came when massive load-shedding problems have hit Tripura’s hospital service as well as banking service, haunting normal lives of common men. Tripura Mid-Day-Meal catering controvers | AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): Opposition CPI-M on Saturday has blamed BJP Govt for its decision to hand-over mid-day-meal projects to an NGO under the name of ISKCON. CPI-M State General Secretary Gautam Das stated that in the name of ISKCON led NGO, BJP Govt is handingover mid-day-meal project to RSS. Even though it’s under code of ISKCON, but it’s actually an RSS wing may cause massive job losses in Tripura schools as many people are dependent upon mod-day-meal based jobs in Tripura schools. The CPI-M leader through a press meet said, “This project is given to NGO which is actually RSS wing under cover of ISKCON and due to this step, many mid-day-meal employees will lose jobs. Before entering Tripura, Akshay Patra mi | AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN): Tripura Govt has decided to handover few schools’ mid-day-meal projects of around 25,000 students to an NGO 'The Akshaya Patra Foundation' (TAPF) which has already triggered criticism across national media. On the oneside, the NGO is being praised for supplying hygienic food to around 1.8 million children across 15,000 schools in 12 states and doing a great charity work, at the opposite side, the c ritics say it is merely a contractor engaged by state governments to provide mid-day meals and is paid by the government for its services.The NGO however claimed that Govt provides 60% funds and 40% is given by the NGO from donations. However, if some states want to give egg, they have no objection, said the NGO, but here in Tripura CM Biplab Deb said that the NGO will not give eggs as it only supplies vegetarian food.Their only condition is that states will have to provide egg directly to students. Budget 2019 brings Shocks : Petrol, die | NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): When oppositions are protesting on the increasing petrol, diesel and other fuel price hikes, Petrol and Diesel pricesare set to rise by Rs 2 per litre in the country as new Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her budget speech today increased of special additional excise duty (SAED) as well as Road and Infrastructure Cess by Rs 1 per litre each on automobile fuels.The government currently charges Rs 7 per litre of SAED on both branded and un-branded petrol and Rs 1 per litre on diesel. Also, Road and Infrastructure Cess of Rs 8 per litre is being charged on both petrol and diesel. Minister Sitharaman did not share the overall tax gain to the government as a result of the budget announcement.“Crude prices have softened from their highs, this gives me room to review excise duty and cess on petrol and diesel. TPSC yet to publish mains result of TCS/ | AGARATALA, July 5 (TIWN): In another shocking development, TPSC continued to ignore High Court’s order of publishing TCS/TPS-2016 result. BJP State Govt after assuming power, cancelled all ongoing recruitments and Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) even though an independent body but it also cancelled all ongoing recruitments. Job aspirants knocked Govt’s door various times to reinstall the interview process but their pleas were not accepted.Then job aspirants filed various cases against the Govt’s move as well as TPSC.
