AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): In a shocking revelation, CPI-M former MP, Ganamukti Parisahd President and also Central Committee member Jitendra Chaudhury has told media today that State Election Commissioner G K Rao is receiving various humiliating messages from other states centering polls.
Today, CPI-M leader met G K Rao to complain him about the poll violence and attacks on CPI-M candidates. On that time, sitting on the constitutional post, G K Rao has allegedly said, he is tied under various pressures and in September 2018 election also he could not function due to such pressures.
When CPI-M leaders requested him still to control the violence right now and to put his best efforts G K Rao allegedly has told them, “I am only here for 2 months…….” (most likely retirement time).
The Commissioner also has accepted that in previous local body elections he could not do anything.
In a press meeting Jitendra Chaudhury and CPI-M State General Secretary Gautam Das have briefed this before media. Chaudhury also said, as a person Rao is polite but failed to work independently due to pressures.
CPI-M has alleged chronological attacks on party workers, candidates centering the Panchayat Election.
Panchayat election to be held on July 27, 2019.
Today, in Rajnagar of South Tripura Subrata Debnath, candidate of Panchayat election was injured heavily. Four have been injured in Rajnagar including leaders as MLA Sudhan Das, Arup Majumder.
