KAMALPUR, July 21 (TIWN): The crisis of petrol and diesel continues in different parts of the sub-division.
Though fuel got filled in the tanks of the filling station, it failed to cope with the demand. But, at the same time petrol and diesel remained available at the open market in more than double price.
The only filling station of the sub-division, Annapurna Filling Station virtually failed to fulfill the demands of the fuel. Moreover, being the time of agriculture, the demand of diesel also increased for running power-tillers.
Though, the filling station occasionally got the supply of tankers from IOC, but it remained very little in comparison with the demand. Hence, the filling station became bound to supply 200 to 400 rupees’ petrol and diesel.
But, what remained mysterious was that, the fuels got available in the open market. If one could afford the price of 100 to 150 rupees a liter, than petrol remained available to the extent of the will.
The same thing became true in the case of the diesel with a price of 90 to 120 rupees a liter. And the hurly-burly of the administration about strict vigil collapsed here in this sub-division.
