AGARTALA, July 21 (TIWN): Indian Association of Physiotherapist (IAP) and Physiotherapist forum of Tripura on Thursday in a press meet at press club said that Assam Down Town University is running professional courses including physiotherapy with illegal eligibility criteria.
Addressing the press meet the members said that UGC clearly mentioned this course should be PCB not even PCM.
However, they further urged to everyone to spread awareness regarding admission procedure to this subject.
They further said that they are thankful to Government of Tripura for recruiting physios in health sector.
Indian Association Physiotherapist is a registered body in India, with over 30,000 physiotherapists as member of this body. The body is controlled by the board of elected office bearers, which included President, Secretary, Treasurer and various conveyors to monitor various activities of the IAP.
It is to be mentioned here that World Health Organization (WHO) has already declare that the physiotherapy profession and Ayurveda are two most advanced medical system for curing the non-communicable diseases in recent era of Health care system.
After long 10-12 years government of Tripura has declared the post of physiotherapist in Tripura health service and it is a major milestone in the history of IAP.
IAP members said that qualification criteria for the job is class XII in any stream which is to be class XII in science only, Professional qualification should be only Degree not diploma, Grade should be Group-B Gazette like Government of Nagaland, Gujrat, Delhi, NCR, Tamil Nadu etc and the pay scale should be as per the norms of the Group-B gazette rank as per the modification of recruitment rule (RR) of the health and family welfare.
