ONGC pumps in gas to Monarchak 101MW Pla | AGARTALA, Nov 27 (TIWN): After months of technical glitch and interruptions, ONGC began the gas supply to 101MW Monarchak plant from Friday. In such irregular and unstable situation of power generation where Monarchak power plant was shut down for months but still Manik Govt is boasting for exporting 100MW power to Bangladesh. It is also to be mention here that TSECL backed by Tripura Govt has to pay huge pending bills over Rs 100 crores to OTPC Palatana but not paying money back to power plants even though consumers paying to TSECL . CM Manik and his CPI-M Govt got the hundreds of crores money for big budget election campaign but don’t (?) have the money to pay the due electricity bills to power generation plants like OTPC Palatana. Although ONGC begins 0.40 mmscmd unit of gas supply to NEEPCO’s 101 MW Monarchak plant from Friday, but there is no assurance how long ONGC will continue gas supply, confirms NEEPCO Project Head S R Biswas to TIWN. Talking to TIWN, NEEPCO Project Head S R Biswas confirmed that ONGC has started supply of 0.40 mmscmd unit of gas to NEEPCO’s 101 MW Monarchak plant after they have assured the gas supply to be taken uninterruptedlyâ€. It was further confirmed with NEEPCO General Manager (Electrical) Samar Ranjan Biswas that Monarchak power plant expects to get 0.40 mmscmd unit of gas from ONGC from Friday evening.NEEPCO wanted 0.5 MSCMPD gas but ONGC is able to supply only 0.2 to 0.3 MSCMPD due to technical problems; there are frequent interruptions also and ONGC will be able to supply 0.5 MSCMPD gas by the middle of 2016. | 27-Nov-2015 |
Bangladesh to ink pact with India for 10 | AGARTALA, Nov 27 (TIWN): Bangladesh and India are all set to sign an agreement for 100 MW power transmissions at Delhi on Friday from Tripura's 726 MW gas-fired thermal power project at Palatana in Gomati district.Both the nations are all set to sign an agreement for dispatch of 100 MW power from Palatana project on November 27 in Delhi. The agreement would also decide the power tariff for the transmission of 100 MW power to Bangladesh.Although, the power minister Manik dey says to TIWN that he is not at all aware about the terms for power tariff. He further said that, a two-day technical meeting between the two countries concluded on Thursday which reviewed the progress of works for drawing the 47 km long 400 kv high tension wire from Suryamaninagar power sub-station here to Comilla in Bangladesh for transportation of power. It is to be mentioned here that the neighbouring country has opted for getting the power on its victory day on December 16 and it is presumed that power would be transmitted on that day adding that the works for drawing the transmission line is near completion. Minister said that, the transmission line would be put to live for testing from December 10-15. Machines of the Palatana project were transhipped from Kolkata to Agartala by using the Bangladesh Waterways route and the Ashuganj river port on Meghna in the neighbouring country's Brahmanbaria district.Altogether 3,500 employees are engaged in the work of laying power cable lines for transmission of 100 MW power to Bangladesh. | 27-Nov-2015 |

CM busy in election campaigns, spending | AGARTALA, Nov 27 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar where busy to attend 24 rallies for the upcoming civic poll, several health centre in the interiors of the State are running deplorable.Most of the health centres are running lack of adequate number of doctors and nurses.Many sanctioned posts are laying vacant thus rendering costly medical infrastructure created at these health institutions remains useless because they lack specialists to operate them. The doctors prefer lucrative urban postings rather than serving at a PHC.Patients visits the hospitals for immediate treatment but the lack of doctors and availability of doctors lately makes the patients to suffer.Reportedly, the patients had to wait for hours to visit the doctor. Even in the case of emergency also the patient family to get doctor on time. Sometime due to delay in the treatment the patient had to suffer and some time they die waiting for the doctors on time.The State Government had opened the primary health centre with a purpose to serve the population of the area, but today it has failed to ensure proper services due to staff crunch and negligence of the current staffs including lack of infrastructure.The government claims to have opened several PHCs but delivery of services is far from satisfactory results. Moreover, whatever good things are made with Central Govt funds in Tripura, but due to lack of maintenance everything got spoiled and thus everywhere there is a dull, lifeless situation prevailing over the whole state. The road-ways of Tripura like NH-44 are in worst ever condition since Independence. Surprisingly, instead of going with the 21st century's trend of IT to Industry to uplift economy, Tripura CM shows no interest in private companies or investments. ONGC to supply gas to Monarchak from Fri | AGARTALA, Nov 25 (TIWN): In another major initiative, ONGC has decided to supply point four (.4 mmscmd) unit gas to Tripura's 101 MW gas-based Monarchak power plant from Friday says NEEPCO Project Head S R Biswas.Talking to TIWN on Wednesday, NEEPCO Project Head S R Biswas confirmed that ONGC has proposed a letter to Monarchak mentioning that ONGC is capable of supplying point four unit of gas to Monarchak from Friday.It is to be mentioned here that if everything goes well Monarchak will be able to generate 50 MW unit of power from Friday, confirmed Biswas.Powered by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), Tripura's 101 MW gas-based Monarchak power plant will begin its power generation on a regular basis from Friday.However, the 101 MW gas-based Monarchak power plant in Sipahijala district at Sonamura sub-division will resume power production after ONGC will resume its gas supply to Monarchak power plant. The project was run by the North East Electrical Power Corporation (NEEPCO), a government undertaking. No initiatives taken to purify polluted | AGARTALA, Nov 25 (TIWN): Although since years various initiatives were taken to save the waterbody of Kalyan Sagar at Matabari Tripureshwari Temple, also to maintain its purity of water to save the rare N-Nigrican Bostami Turtles, but Gomati District Administration miserably failed to preserve the purity of the water even after 15 days of Annual Diwali festival at Tipura Sundari Temple. More than 2000 police personnel were engaged around the lake, also in the premises of Matabari temple. Even Gomati District DM Sonal Goel was seen busy in giving numerous media interviews to TV channels beside the lake during Diwali, but sadly even after 15 days of the Diwali festival, the lake is found full of dirts, plastic bags, papers, bottles and other accessories which in turn killing the rare N-Nigrican Bostami Turtles. Almost 8 months passed by, flyover work | AGARTALA, Nov 25 (TIWN): Of the 2.5KM fly over construction work, not even 500 meter of work is yet complete. Its almost 8 months that the fly over construction has began in the state, but till today no visible progress is made in the construction work.Not even 500 meter of the fly over construction is completed.It is to be mentioned here that getting a green signal from the state Public Work Department (PWD) the departmental engineers along with the entrusted Nagarjuna Construction Company (NCC) have taken up the construction work for building Rs. 250 crore flyover linking AD Nagar police lines with Fire Brigade Square in the city's busiest stretch of road. Tripura, which is one of the most peaceful states in the Northeast, has one of the fastest growing economies in the region.To contain the traffic jam the Left front govt. has taken up an ambitious project of building flyover at the Agartala city.
