Agartala – Guwahati bus service s | AGARTALA, Nov 8 (TIWN): The Tripura Road Transport Road Corporation (TRTC) with great enthusiasm had launched bus on Agartala – Guwahati before Durga Puja. However according to report , the new AC bus procured by TRTC for the route in last fifteen days made only went twice to Guwahati. But after that the bus stopped the service. The service was stopped after getting complains from passengers, as the deluxe bus is not fit for the route. The bus lacks long journey facilities, AC was fitted in normal bus. The passengers need comfortable bus seat while travelling long journey. But the seat arrangement in the bus was unscientific, passengers unable to seat comfortably. For this the passengers are not willing to travel by the bus. As a result, passengers have to travel by double fare by private buses. Massive rise in cattle smuggling left 1 | SONAMURA, Nov 8 (TIWN): One Pulsar Bike bearing No.TR-01-8903 dashed to the truck (TR-03-1947) full of cows on back side in Agartala-Sonamura Road. As a result bike rider namely Jakir Hossain (22), S/O Mafij Mia of Bolerdepha and received grievous injuries on head and were shifted to GBP Hospital via Sonamura Hospital. Injured Jakir Hossain Hossain died at GBP Hospital during treatment. Treatment of other injured person is going on. The accident occurred due to rash and negligent driving on the part of the rider of the truck who are then hurried for smuggling of those cows to Bangladesh. PCC Chief Birajit Sinha released from J | AGARTALA / KAILASHAHAR Nov 7 (TIWN): PCC chief Birajit Sinha was released from Kailsahar district jail on Friday after completing his sentence of one month of imprisonment announced by the Apex court in allegation of violation of administrative order.The Supreme Court’s division bench – Ranjan Gogoi and NV Ramana recently reduced the 3-month jail custody awarded to him by the Unakoti court earlier to 1 month for violation of the administrative order. Reportedly, Birajit had already spent 23 days in jail custody in 2004 after a complaint was lodged against him for violation of the administrative order and after spending rest of the 6 days in jail he was released from the jail custody on Friday. However, PCC chief Birajit Sinha was received outside the jail with a warm welcome by Advocate Pijush Kanti Biswas, MLA Gopal Roy, Badar-Ud-Jaman, Kailsahar district congress president and others at the premises of the jail. Flyover: Construction underway in full | AGARTALA, Nov 6 (TIWN): Looking forward to complete the flyover construction in the given deadline, the work is progressing in full swing.The constriction work is progressing in full swing, and the work progress shows that the construction will be completed in the given deadline.It is to be mentioned here that as the work is progressing towards Bordowali and it is messing up the traffic movement mostly during the office hours every day. Drilling for the construction of pillar is going on in full swing as it is necessary to set up the pillars. Heavy machines are catered from outside the state to carry out the construction works. Reportedly, mud leveling machines are also used for leveling the mud as according to the blueprint two pillars will be build at the two ends of the Howrah bridge.However, the agency is carrying out day and night work at the spots including at Battala, Bordowali, and Fire brigade Chowmuhani to meet the deadline and to finish the work in the given time.It is the first flyover of the state connecting fire brigade to Battala. Tripura civic polls on 9th December : Ad | AGARTALA, Nov 6 (TIWN): Tripura will go to poll for its civic bodies on 9th December 2015. An announcement for the poll date has been made by the state Election Commissioner at the civil secretariat this evening. The model code of conduct has comes to immediate effect in all municipal areas. The bye election for panchayet will also be held on the same day. State Election Commissioner G Kameswer Rao announcing the poll date for the civic bodies and the bye poll for panchayet said notification for the important civic bodies will be issued on 12th November. Last date for submission of nomination is 19th November. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on 20th November and nomination may be withdrawn on 23rd November. Counting will take place on 12th December. The entire election process will be completed by 15th December. Election commissioner said in the poll both EVM and Ballot papers will be used.
