Agartala, Sep 20 (TIWN): While the government claims to leave no stones unturned for improving the health care service, a number of health centers in remote areas remain unsatisfactory, said sources. The government needs to check out the issue.
Most of the health centers have dearth of doctors, medicines and other staffs. Patients of remote areas are seen not to get proper health service. Taking the issue into consideration, the government should reach basic healthcare facilities to each doorstep and also increase quality of treatment facilities in public hospitals and healthcare institutions.
Referring to the issue, though Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that the government would engage necessary nurses, para-medic staff, multi-purpose workers, blood banks and other facilities in all public healthcare centers, the government should seriously look after the progress in the remote area health centers for the welfare of the people.
The state government should ensure full ambulance coverage across the state in phased manner. Hygienic facilities and proper healthcare infrastructure should be maintained in the healthcare institutes. Furthermore, the Department of Health should lay special stress on the far flung Primary Health Centers (PHC), Community Health Centers (CHC) and health sub-centers.
