AGARTALA, September 19 (TIWN): The students and teachers of Hindi Higher Secondary School celebrated Hindi Diwas in the school to mark the importance of the country’s most widely spoken language here today.
Speaking in the progarmme Member of Parliament Shankar Prasad Dutta emphasized the importance of Hindi language and said the students should be proud of the National language and should be enriched by adopting good words from the language. He also called upon students to make united efforts for the progress and promotion of Hindi so that unity of the country can be strengthened. Hindi was officially recognized as the National language on September 14,1949.
Hindi poems were sung, and students spoke on the importance of the language in the contemporary society. The programme ended with the handwriting competition and every child learnt to speak a few lines in Hindi.
