‘Enough numbers of security person | AGARTALA, June 27 (TIWN): State Election Commission has assured about enough numbers of security personnel during Panchayat Election. Tripura Election Commission here on Wednesday announced that elections to the three-tier panchayats would be held on July 27 and adequate security arrangement would be in place for the conduct of vote."Fifty per cent seats in gram panchayats, panchayat samitis and zilla parishads would be reserved for women. Seats would also be reserved for Scheduled Caste and tribals," State Election Commissioner G. Kameswara Rao told IANS after announcing the poll schedule.The polling would be held for 6,111 seats in 591 gram panchayats, 419 seats in 35 panchayat samitis and 116 seats in 8 zilla parishads. Around 12,03,070 electors, including 5,86,176 women, are eligible to vote.Rao said with the issuance of the statutory notification on Monday, the filling of nominations would start. Agartala-Sabroom railway connectivity ex | AGARTALA, June 26 (TIWN): Since the trial run train arrived in Sabroom Railway Station, excitements goes high among common men, ushering a new hope of business and trade. Agartala-Sabroom Railway service to be started from this month, if everything on the right track. On June 29, 2019, the railway service will be started in the presence of dignitaries. Railway Dept source informed, people of Sabroom (South Tripura District) can have this facility in this month and the trial train reached on June 23. It can be recalled here that on January 5, 2018 when Udaipur-Garji passenger train service had kicked off, Minister for Railways Rajen Gohain said that by 2019 the Rail Connectivity will cover till Sabroom, whereas the work on Indo-Bangla project is going on in already.
