AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): CPI-M’s students wing Students Federation of India (SFI) has condemned Govt’s decision of privatization of 20 Govt schools.

SFI said that both central and state BJP Govt are at their best to promote privatization, capitalism.

“After many protests and struggles, Tripura established various Govt schools and a system was established but now the BJP Govt is destroying the whole system and promoting privatization. We deeply condemn the move of the Govt”, said SFI.

The statement came from SFI after closed 20 schools in Tripura were decided to be given in private hands.

From Govt side, it was said that the cause behind the handing-over of Tripura schools are nothing but students’ crisis.Tripura has 147 schools where numbers of students are less than 10. Out of them 20 schools have been selected to serve the purpose. Teachers crisis, students crisis had led 20 schools in Tripura to be shutdown. On that time, the BJP led State Govt has decided to open these schools via private hands.

Private authorities have to follow the Education laws strictly.

For next 5 years, the schools have been allowed to use the ‘readymade’ infrastructure which were earlier invested by Govt of Tripura.

It can be mentioned here that along with privatization of schools, BJP led Tripura Govt has imposed Right to Education rules on private schools allowing 25% poor students admission in each school.
