CPI-M wrote to CM, demands peaceful Panchayat election

AGARTALA, June 26 (TIWN): In demand of peaceful election for the upcoming Panchayat poll season, CPI-M spokesperson Bijan Dhar has written a letter to CM Biplab Deb.

 CPI-M has demanded peaceful election and safety to the opposition candidates till nomination submission.

Earlier, the Left Front had expressed resentment about CM’s decision as they wanted to meet him directly, but CM asked CPI-M to submit written forms.

Along with CPI-M, other Left Parties demanded peaceful Panchayat Election.

Panchayat Election to be held in July, last week. 

Total 12 lakhs 3 thousand 70 voters names have been enrolled in the electoral list sharing 6,16, 893 male voters and 5,86,176 female voters. Total numbers of seats are 6,646. Gram Panchayat : 591, Panchayat Samiti : 35, Jila Parishad : 8. State Election Commission said that anyday the voting date can be announced officially.
