AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): Tripura's main opposition party Congress continue to suffer from groupism, faction feuds as Congress President Pradyot Manikya trying hard to expand party's support base across Tripura.

Few Senior Congress leaders  alleged that, former State Congress President Birjit Sinha is accused of siphoning AICC Party funds to finance his son's education over Rs 3 Lakhs/month. Then many Congress leaders also accused Birjit for renting a portion of Congress Bhavan to private parties and pocketing over Rs 1 lakhs rent money.

Then major allegations against another Congress Leader Baptu Chakraborty who is close to Pradyot Manikya. Many Congress leaders accuse Baptu for siphoning over Rs 15 Lakhs money from Congress funds as Pradyot Manikya entrusted Baptu to organize Rahul Gandhi's pre-election rally at Khumlung.

Baptu Chakraborty is a well known alcoholic, he was expelled from Congress for 6 years but after Pradyot Manikya became State Congress President, Baptu was re-admitted into party.

Many undisciplined characters like Baptu's entry into Congress is being seen as Pradyot's weakness to control bad elements.

Multiple Congress factions led by Birjit Sinha, Gopal Roy to others were energized after Congress vote share increased from 2% ( Assembly Poll) to 30% in Lok Sabha Poll. But due to faction feuds and lack of ground organization, lack of unity resulting a herculean task for Pradyot Manikya in Tripura Politics.
