The press conference was called following a chaos in the boys hostel that was broadcasted by media recently. Heated by media questioning, whether the NIT Director is trying to hide any issue ongoing inside the campus, Roy said, "NIT will not hide anything and what NIT will do against such activities that also needs to be known to everybody". "Recently from a minor issue a massive clash emerged among the 4th year and 3rd year students basically. The issues were very small but the fighting resulted in hitting each-other with rods. MHRD in its letter vide D.O.No.17-2/2017-EE.17 dated 3rd August 2017 clearly stated,"It is reiterated that this will be the last chance to acquire the requisite minimum professional qualifications.
