AGARTALA, Sep 1 (TIWN): The new NIT Director of Agartala Ajoy Kumar Roy calling press on Friday exposed about various indiscipline activities ongoing inside the hostel including recovering of liquor bottles from there. The press conference was called following a chaos in the boys hostel that was broadcasted by media recently. Heated by media questioning, whether the NIT Director is trying to hide any issue ongoing inside the campus, Roy said, "NIT will not hide anything and what NIT will do against such activities that also needs to be known to everybody". "Recently from a minor issue a massive clash emerged among the 4th year and 3rd year students basically. The issues were very small but the fighting resulted in hitting each-other with rods. Getting informed we rushed to the spot and inspected the incident. NIT has also set a Fact-Finding Committee for that. However total 28 students have been identified related to the clash, whereas 3 among them were pardoned as they were limited with verbal actions only", said Director.

"We had suspended the students for a whole year. But then the students not only cried and fell on our feet but also said they would commit suicide if rusticated as they are from very poor family. However, teachers are not their enemies but we have rusticated them from the hostel and this is the first and last warning to the students. But their suspension will be continued till their parents come and sign bonds to take it as their last warning and if any indisciplinary activity is again seen they will be expelled from the College", said Director.

Director Ajoy Kumar Roy also criticized the pathetic condition of Govt Colleges, Universities for lack of disciplines.

However, Roy also assured such activities will not be tolerated in NIT. 'They may warn for committing suicide because they belong to poor family, but they should think about their poverty before doing indisciplinary actions', said Roy.
