Tripura needs more stadiums or more hosp | AGARTALA, January 4 (TIWN): Building more stadiums, concrete structures certainly gets higher precedence of Left Front Govt led by CM Manik Sarkar. When Tripura's health care biting dust, patients are dying on floors of Agartala's GBP Hospital to Gandacherra's health care centres, but LF Govt is more interested to construct massive stadiums rather than bare necessity hospitals. Fact is, massive constructions of stadiums always fetch multifold benefits to ruling party as contractors supplying construction materials can pocket crores and enrich CPIM party fund. After construction of a stadium, rather than sports persons, it becomes another playground of politicians as endless rallies destroy the ground within no time. For example newly constructed Vivekananda Maidan (former Astabal ground) was used for more political gatherings rather than sports events, endless political rallies destroyed the ground. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's plan of converting every open space of Agartala into concrete structures only fueled by the sole desire to create more wealth for ruling party fund and contractors. Chief Minister's letter to Prime Minister Modi to hand over 115.70 acres of Assam Rifles defence land to construct a modern sports complex, stadium only justifies the nefarious plans of State Govt. | 03-Jan-2015 |
