Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman today talking tough on corruptions and coming down heavily on the state govt. said that the situation of the poor people comprising of daily labors has become worst due to massive money loot here in Tripura. The CPI (M) and its left front govt. is making raj with the people’s money, whereas on the other the poor people of the state are suffering from a huge loss, said Barman.
It is mentionable here that Chief Minister Manik Sarkar during the party dharna at Delhi Jantar Mantar ground launching a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi-led government for its "anti-poor" policies, he said the Centre is trying to dilute rural job scheme MGNREGA through various routes including significant curtailing of funds. Sarkar, a CPI (M) Polit Bureau member, said Tripura has been given Rs 650 crore in the form of central assistance to MGNREGA in the financial year 2014-15, although the budget allocation was to the tune of Rs 1,400 crore.
The Tripura chief minister sought to play down his role in leading the dharna, saying that he was merely showing his solidarity with the poor.
But it is to be mentioned here that when on one hand Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has been stressing upon to withdraw the fund curtailment for the save of the poor people, on the other Manik’s officers remained much busy looting money from the poor people.
