Agartala, January 6 (TIWN): A 65-year-old man was killed in a road mishap at Churaibari gate on Assam-Agartala National Highway-44, this morning
The deceased was identified as Sukhendra Nath (65), a resident of Maheshpur area under Kadamtala police station. Reportedly, the deceased was a sweeper of Income Tax office.
While Sukhendra Nath was returning from a shop to quarter after having food, he was crossing the National Highway and came down under a 12-wheel lorry bearing number RJ14GC-8615 coming from opposite direction at West Bridge area. As a result, giving no time for treatment, he died on the spot.
However, after receiving the information on accident, staffs of fire service and police of Kadamtala police station rushed to the spot and seized the lorry. Police also detained the driver of the vehicle.
