To ensure public safety, various Govt officials are working day-night to meet the public demands and statewide SDMs and other officials have continued visiting various places to check whether the Lockdown's protocols are being obeyed or not and with such actions, various illegal works are also exposed in public and actions are being taken against anti-socials whenever is found. With lockdown nationally, various shops except grocery shops, medicine and raw food items for cooking are shuttered down across Tripura. But taking the chance of shuttered down shops across Tripura, illegal gatherings have gone high. An 85-year-old woman in Ahmedabad died of Covid-19 on Wednesday, the Gujarat health department confirmed.The woman had travelled abroad and was admitted to the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad on March 22 after developing coronavirus symptoms. However, the biggest relief is for those who went into a panic buying mode after the lockdown was announced that big retail stores like Reliance Store, Big Bazaar and More have enough quantities of essential goods. But there was shortage of goods in the local shops. The Tripura government on Wednesday made it clear there will no shortage of goods in any shop in Tripura. Apart from this, the big retail stores have also not increased the rates of the items like the local shopkeepers have done. Reliance Fresh was still offering discounts on Wednesday like it used to give earlier.However, the entry to these stores now is not as easy as it used to be earlier. Nationwide Lockdown began since midnight | NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, March 25 (TIWN): The Ministry of Home Affairs issued an order prescribing a nationwide lockdown, soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced for same in a televised address to the nation. The Centre cited ''proactive measures'' such as ban on international travel, issue of advisories, setting up quarantine facilities, contact tracing of person infected with the virus, temporary suspension of metro, train service and domestic flights to fight against the coronavirus pandemic. The MHA said the situation is being continuously monitored at the level of PM Modi, who has already had video conferencing with the Chief Ministers. Experts have advised to stringently implant social distancing, given the experience of few other nations where the casualty rate has been way too high. However, the MHA adds that a lack of coordination between the Centre and the state won't help. Tripura Govt has taken certain decisions for the people as : 1) If any Doctor or Medical staff get infected by Corona-Virus during treatment of patient, then Rs. 4 lakhs to be given to the Doctor's family, 2) 3,95,000 social pension beneficiaries to be given 2 months advance allowance, 3) Antodyoy, Annapurna, Priority group members will get free ration for next 15 days (total 5 lakhs 86,000 families), 4) Mid-day-meal receiving children will get 15 days rice and daal in home, 6) Anganwadi children, pregnant women also will get their food grains at home, 7) For Tuep workers Rs. 5 crores have been sanctioned, 8) Total 10 days works have been given to the MGNGREGA beneficiaries (they will work by maintaining social distance and proper hygiene), 9) For PDF emergency works 5 crores have been sanctioned, 10) Roster duty for the Govt employees. Corona-Virus : ‘Tripura has enough | AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, March 23 (TIWN): Ahead of lockdown, amid public self-maintained, unofficial curfew going on, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has ensured that there is huge quantity of food stored items in state and Govt is stocking more, thus, nothing to be worried much. Govt officials are measuring the food stocks in private stores also, said the Chief Minister in the Assembly. He also mentioned, there are adequate health service related equipment in this state and Govt beefing up the safety measures. Opposition leader, former CM Manik Sarkar demanded central funding for Tripura with Coronavirus outbreak mentioning about the fund crisis in state. Lockdown started in Delhi, Kolkata, Maharastra and many other states. Tripura’s lockdown likely to be announced shortly.
