Petrol price at Agartala on Monday Rs. 7 | AGARTALA, July 4 (TIWN): When petrol price are hitting the consumers heavily, Congress has demanded to decrease the (value added tax) VAT at Rs. 15 %. Talking to TIWN, hitting the Modi Govt on petrol price, Tripura Congress leader Gopal Roy suggested BJP led state govt in Tripura to decrease at least 15 % VAT on petrol. “Right now, 20 % VAT is imposed on petrol and 13.5 % VAT has been imposed upon diesel. So, according to Tripura’s price rate, if 15 % VAT is decreased then only 5 % VAT will stay and 15 rupees will be downed at petrol price. Then in case of diesel, if 15 % is decreased then only 3.5 % VAT will exist. If Govt takes this action for the welfare of common men it will stable the fuel price, then 15 rupees will be reduced in petrol price. On Sunday, numbers of 10323 teachers talked to media with saffron-banners alleging BJP Govt led administration didn’t give permission for today’s rally. The 10323 teachers had planned to hold a rally today but at the end no permission was given to them. The teachers after the cancellation of the rally expressed surprises saying the new govt is being brainwashed by CPI-M backed officials. All of the sick people have been identified as tea garden workers of Kamalasagar, under Sepahijala Dist provided with wheat from the Tea garden office itself. While spot visiting, the families told TIWN that from tea garden office the wheat were brought and after consuming rotis made out of those wheat, since many days some of the family members were feeling uncomfortable and ill. Slowly their health downed more and 27 are in serious condition amid ongoing medical treatment. Many were hospitalized after their health condition started worsening. The family members alleged that the wheat was mixed with rubber or something like plastic materials. "The wheat was mixed with rubber and there is no confusion about that. However, yesterday the petrol price was Rs. 74.99 % whereas today's Petrol price in Agartala is Rs. 73.94 per Litre. Last change in Agartala petrol price was on June 1, 2018 and it was decreased by 5 paisa. But on May 31st the price of petrol had raised 49 paisa from Rs. 74.50 to Rs. 74.99. The petrol price is inclusive of Tripura state taxes, are hitting the customers daily whereas the opposition have been demanding GST’s impose upon the fuel so that it stays under control. The consumers alleged, before one year the price was only Rs. 45 which sometimes went to Rs. 48 but in one year, extreme hikes have become a matter of concern.
