AGARTALA, June 2 (TIWN): Amid state govt's attempt to promote Pineapples, Tripura farmers and businessmen are facing heavy losses this year.

However, whether due to Govt direct purchase of pineapples from the farmers such losses are causing to the sellers or not it's not yet clear. 

Talking to the businessmen at Agartala, who were selling pineapples, they said that from various parts of the state pineapples are importing but selling is going dull.

"We heard that pineapple products are to be taken abroad but we do not know anything in this regard yet", said a pineapple seller. 

Another businessman said, whether the govt is purchasing pineapples from the farmers directly it's not sure, but our businesses are facing heavy losses.
