Many people believe that Rose Valley was a Bank, but it was not at all any Banking Institution but a Chit Fund companyâ€. Whether its Muslims or Hindus, this barnaric practice of butchering animals to appease Gods continue even in 21st Century. Whether its buffalo, goats killing during Kali Puja, Durga Puja or butchering cows during Eid festival, question remains that, is the bloodshed of millions of animals is necessary to celebrate any joyous religious occasion ? During the Eid festival, lakhs of cows are butchered by ‘halal’ process where animal is slittered to meet a painful long death which religious people celebrate as holy occasion. Even in Agartala’s Fourteen Gods Temple or Durgabari, goats, buffalos are killed to appease so called imaginary Gods with animal bloods. Is this humanity ? Although country is moving to with Digital-India movement, but the superstition and faith in barbaric beliefs are not leaving their minds. Hindus everyday killing thousands of goats in the name of Puja especially at Kali temples, and on special occasions they go with buffalo killings including pious places like Tripura Sundari temple. Bangladesh police have put in place a three-tier security ring around the Sholakia ground here for Tuesday's Eid congregation, in view of the terror attack that hit the July 7 Eid prayers. The Sholakia ground, which hosts Bangladesh's largest Eid congregation, will be guarded by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police. Plainclothes police will also be deployed inside and outside the ground, located in Kishoreganj district, about 60 miles northeast of Dhaka. On Eid-ul-Fitr morning of July 7, a police check-post near the Sholakia Eidgah ground was attacked by terrorists, within a week of the July 1 Dhaka cafe terror attack that left 22 persons dead. Two policemen and a housewife were killed in bomb blasts and a firefight in the July 7 attack at Dhaka, and a suspected attacker was also killed. In Bangladesh, Locals say that despite the heightened security, the Eid on Tuesday will see fewer people show up for the prayers at the ground. The union cabinet on Monday approved the exchange of duty concessions under the Asia Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA) towards increasing trade among the six member nations of the regional trade pact. "The union cabinet has approved the exchange of tariff concessions on margin of preference (MoP) basis under the fourth round of negotiations of the Asia Pacific Trade Agreement and related amendments," an official statement here said. Current members of APTA are Bangladesh, China, India, Laos, South Korea and Sri Lanka. The Asia Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA), formerly called the Bangkok Agreement, is an initiative under the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) for trade expansion through exchange of tariff concessions among developing country members of the Asia-Pacific region. To give a major push for creation of high quality infrastructure in premier educational institutions, the Union Cabinet on Monday approved the establishment of a Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA). "The HEFA would be jointly promoted by the identified promoter and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) with an authorised capital of Rs 2,000 crore. The Government equity would be Rs 1,000 crore," an official statement said, after the meeting of the union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The HEFA would be formed as a SPV within a PSU Bank or Government-owned-NBFC (Promoter). "It would leverage the equity to raise up to Rs 20,000 crore for funding projects for infrastructure and development of world class Labs in IITs/IIMs/NITs and such other institutions," the statement added. | 12-Sep-2016 |
